Advocates for Fair and Affordable Water Rates

Welcome to our official webiste.

We are a Citizens Watch Dog Organization that advocates on behalf of residential water users. Our primary purpose is to insure all Californians are provided drinking water at affordable rates.  Our secondary purpose is to stamp out conflicts of intertest, nepotism, vendor / contractor  favoritism, and other fisical wastes from California Municipal Water Districts as all of these corrupted acts cause unfair water increases to the public for our most precious  natural resource that we believe should be sold at revenue neutral prices.

For 2008 our focus and attention is in Southern California on the Central Basin Municipal Water District whose elected stewards are seriously mismanaging the distirct in our opinion.  Whenever we state an  opinion we always back it up witth proof. This district is doing all the things that cause water rates to unfairly increase.

In the Past 18 months administrative costs at the municipal water district increased a startling 68.4%, as uncovered by a Whittier Daily News investigative reporter in March this year. To make matters worse Central Basin's  Metropolitan Water Distrct  delegation of Directors Phil Hawkins and Bob Apodaca supported a 14.3 water increase effective January 1, 2009 and there is already an additional increase of 20% being discussed for January 2010!

The problem is the rate increases due to hit residences Februray 2009 are not justified at all. The Central Basin board majority has openly practiced and flaunted nepotism and preferential contract awards to there friends. The checks written to campaign donors some months exceeds $500,000!

Click here to see who and what is behind the unreasonable rate increases.  Not re-electing these poor stewards this year would provide an opportunity for a new board majority that could repeal the rate increase to residential users and stop the bleeding of $500,000 a month wasted paying cronies monthly.
